Money Management Institute and FS Investments Deepen Commitment to Financial Literacy

Wednesday, June 9, 2021

New York, June 9, 2021 – The Money Management Institute (MMI) today announced a significant sponsorship from FS Investments, a leading asset manager providing investors with alternative sources of income and growth, enabling MMI’s Gateway Foundation to expand its financial literacy programming in local communities.

MMI has administered the Gateway Foundation focusing on raising industry awareness and career readiness of diverse university students. It has recently expanded its mission to welcome, educate and help advance people of color throughout the financial services industry.  This champion commitment to financial literacy by FS Investments will substantively impact financial literacy efforts, one of three ongoing Gateway campaigns.

“As we work to expand the diversity of the financial services workforce, we are very grateful for the support we have received from FS Investments,” said Craig Pfeiffer, MMI President and CEO. “Their longstanding efforts to promote financial literacy and to establish and support such programming distinguishes their leadership.  Such support is critical to ongoing progress and we look forward to deepening our impact upon financial literacy through the help of FS Investments.”

FS Investments has a long history of providing financial literacy and entrepreneurship courses to high school students in Philadelphia. This sponsorship with the Gateway Foundation broadens their impact by both geography and program types.

“FS Investments is pleased to support MMI’s Gateway Foundation and its mission to welcome, educate and advance people of color in the financial services industry, which aligns so well with our own financial empowerment initiatives,” said Enrico Gaglioti, FS Investments Co-President and MMI board member. “On a personal note, I am proud to serve on the board of an organization like MMI that is committed to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion within our industry.”

The financial literacy initiative is one of three strategic campaigns run by the Gateway Foundation. The other programs include industry awareness and preparation for entry-level professionals, and performance and professional development for mid-career professionals, including grant sponsorships for MMI’s recently launched Executive IQ certification program.
